Local College Secured by Protectorcomms

Protectorcomms have recently completed the Fire & Security systems at the new Coleg y Cymoedd £5.1m Centre of Sporting Excellence based at Nantgarw in Cardiff.

The multi-million-pound sports training and teaching facility consists of a two-storey building featuring a sports hall, fully equipped gym and classroom teaching facilities.

Protectorcomms installed a range of security systems as part of the project, from fire alarms and disabled refuge to intruder alarms and CCTV. The building has also benefitted from full access control using SALTO systems, the most advanced and secure access control solutions for all types of industries. As a global market leader, SALTO has a reputation for advanced and reliable access control.

Steve Williams, Business Manager at Protectorcomms said, “We work with a number of education providers throughout Wales and the southwest. From primary and comprehensive schools to universities and colleges. We have a reputation for quality and trust which is important when working on security systems for education premises.”

The Centre of Sporting Excellence is built on an un-used and un-maintained patch of land that sits opposite the colleges existing campus on the perimeter of the Treforest Industrial estate.

James Hill, Director at Amser said, “It was great to work on this ambitious project with Protectorcomms. As a leading electrical contractor, our continued success is built on reputation, referrals and repeat customers. It’s therefore vitally important that we work with partners with the same values as us and maintain high standards.”

In addition to the Centre of Sporting Excellence, Protectorcomms have recently worked on various other sites for the college – including a retrofit of one of its buildings at the Ystrad Mynach complex.
